YaleWomen, created for and by alumnae from Yale College and Yale's 14 graduate and professional schools, was launched in December 2011 as a "shared interest group" under the umbrella of the AYA.  The association’s purpose is to serve the interests of Yale alumnae and the University by work in four key goal areas: contributing to society by fostering women's leadership at all levels and across professions and by engaging in activities that benefit local, national and international communities; building community among alumnae and students by providing mentoring, networking and social opportunities; promoting lifelong learning through programs and activities with educational and cultural content; and providing a venue, through YaleWomen, by which alumnae can donate their time and talent to the University.  YaleWomen currently has chapters in ten major cities across the United States and is planning a major inaugural conference to be held in Washington DC on April 19-20, 2013.
